~MY DOG ~
*IS* MY FAMILY

Can I bring my dog?
For instance I saw a t-shirt last week and almost bought it. It was plain black and just had some text on the front: “can I bring my dog?”
Then I realised, I don’t actually need to buy it because I ask this question every time I decide to go anywhere or am invited out with friends. I am a dog lover and my dog is literally my family.
People know I’ll not want to go away for a weekend if my dog isn’t welcome.
I won’t go to Sunday brunch if it’s not at a dog friendly place. If I’m invited to a friend’s house for coffee they know I’ll be bringing my dog too. Nobody questions this, just like I wouldn’t question their partner or kids tagging along. They’re family, and my dog is family too.

However, I realised, I don’t actually need to buy it. In addition I ask this question every time I decide to go anywhere or am invited out with friends.

My dog is my family
Firstly My dog is literally my family. Similarly people know I’ll not want to go away for a weekend if my dog isn’t welcome. Therefore I won’t go to Sunday brunch if it’s not at a dog friendly place. However if I’m invited to a friend’s house for coffee they know I’ll be bringing my dog too. Therefore, nobody questions this, just like I wouldn’t question their partner or kids tagging along. In conclusion they’re family, and my dog is family too.

Dogs Welcome
However increasingly across the UK. Therefore I’m not alone in feeling this way. I’m not just a crazy dog lady. Similarly more dog parents are changing the way things used to be.
For instance almost every new coffee shop or restaurant welcomes dogs and many have a menu of dog treats for their fluffy customers. Similarly more and more shops are welcoming dogs in with their humans too.
In conclusion they know if the humans can’t bring their dogs they’ll just go to the beach instead of coming in and spending money!
Above all my dog Maggie loves few things as much as a trip to Lush to get cuddles from the staff and lick the bath bombs. Similarly from my limited research, Airbnb properties are about 50% pet friendly and hosts know families want to bring their dogs on holiday too. They get it.
However times are changing. Giant sacks of anonymous brown pebbles have decreased as more people realise that, just like kids, dogs need a good quality fresh diet of protein, natural vitamins and minerals. In addition I’m her family, she doesn’t see her blood relatives now; her humans are all she’s got.
